If you are planning to travel by bus, you will find that The Mexico Bus Transportation system is efficient and cheap. Bear in mind though, that traveling by bus in Mexico you will need some Spanish as most Mexican bus company ticket sales staff or drivers don't speak English.

Within main cities and tourist resorts the bus services are generaly, cheap, clean, fast (hold on tight!) and efficient.

First-class Mexico bus travel "executive buses" offer comfortable air-conditioned travel with TV (Spanish) and on-board facilities - costing as little as 10% of an equivalent internal flight cost. If you are not pressed for time and have a taste for independent travel. The domestic bus system central hub is Mexico City for many destinations in Mexico. You are provided with food and soft drinks as you board, and on some services there is coffee as well. Toilet facilities are on-board, and TV screens also show a (Spanish) film during the journey. Some companies offer personal headphones to listen to the film. Executive services also offer wide, reclining seats with leg support - the seat arrangement is usually just 32 seats on board with a 2 and 1 seat arrangement.

First Class Mexico buses offer many of the same services as the executive service although the seat configuration will be less generous, meaning that there will be less room for stretching out or sleeping.

Second Class Mexico buses may be air-conditioned on some routes, so unless your budget is really tight, try to avoid these for long journeys. Second class buses take longer to arrive at their destination because they are indirect, with very frequent stops, adding several hours to a journey time.
